Folkestone Morehall is a ward of Folkestone West county division, represented on Kent County Council by Lib Dem Tim Prater.

The Liberal Democrat Action Team are working for Morehall throughout the year, and keep in touch regularly through Focus and through E-FOCUS direct via email too.

    This is the update for the months of November and December, for Cheriton, Morehall and surrounding areas.

    On Wednesday 7th November 2012 PCSO Mark Ball attended the One Stop shop in relation to a report of a member of public attempting to buy items using £100 worth of counterfeit money. Upon viewing the stores CCTV, the identification of the suspect was ascertained. The case is currently on going.

    This is the update for the month of October 2012, for Cheriton, Morehall and surrounding areas.

    Education officers teamed up with local PCSO's Gary Carr and Mark Ball in order to conduct a truancy sweep throughout Folkestone town centre.

    On Saturday 13th October 2012 PCSO Mark Ball hosted a Community Meeting at Cheriton Library. Residents from Chilham Road and local councillors attended. Issues surrounding criminal damage and Anti-social behaviour were discussed.

    On Monday 3rd September 2012 at 21:20 hrs PCSO's Michelle Brady and Mark Ball stopped and spoke with a group of young persons who were drinking alcohol in the park. All alcohol was immediately seized and disposed of. The group were subsequently escorted from the park and instructed not to return that evening.

    Sandgate AFC play from Coolinge Lane, Sandgate and run an adult football team.

    Spectators are welcome to come along support the team (free admittance) and if you would be interested in playing for the team (or the associated youth team Folkestone Cantera) or hiring pitches at the Coolinge Lane ground, get in touch.

    Following on from improvements in Cheriton and Morehall over recent years funded by Local County Councillor Tim Prater's "Member Highways Fund" (MHF), more works are hopefully planned this year. The Members Highway Fund is an amount of money delegated to County Councillors each year to spend on works in their division - currently £25,000 per year.

    On Wednesday 1st August 2012 PCSO Mark Ball attended a report of a vehicle obstruction to a residential driveway. The owner of the vehicle, who was the manager of a local works garage apologised and agreed not to park any of his vehicles in this section of the road again in order to avoid any further upset.

    On Friday 6th Jul 2012 PCSO Mark Ball and PCSO Gary Carr stopped and spoke with a group of 8 young females who were drinking alcohol in Cheriton Park. All alcohol was seized and immediately disposed off. A letter of note has been sent to the parents of each group member.

    On Saturday 15th July 2012 local officers Karen Tappenden, Gary Carr and Mark Ball attended Harcourt Summer Fete. Visitors were able discuss their concerns regarding local issues as well as having their personal belongings security marked.

    The July 2012 Folkestone West "You Decide" Day has received a huge number of applications this year from groups supporting the Folkestone West community.

    The demand has been so high that the amount of money for the July 2012 day has been increased to a total of £15,500 (with the remaining £10,000 available at a second day in December 2012) to increase the chances of the bidders in this round.

    Folkestone and Sandgate have recently switched to a digital TV signal. Those with digital equipment needed to retune on the 13th and 27th June. For those using an analogue TV, a ʻdigiboxʼ is now required to make it work - low cost boxes are available at all major electrical retailers.

    For those eligible for the help scheme (over 75, or on Disability Living Allowance) the help scheme number is 0800 4085 900. They will upgrade one TV per household to digital.

    On Friday 4th May 2012 PCSO Mark Ball attended a seminar on Substance Misuse and its implications. The day was attended by over 100 other persons from various partner agencies. The day provided an opportunity for an insight into substance misuse as well as building strong working relations with other organisations.
