Will You Join Sandgate Royal British Legion?

Poopy image (A group of lapel poppies) (Picture courtesy of The Royal British Legion)I am the Chaplain for the Sandgate Royal British Legion. The response in Sandgate on Sunday was excellent and reflects the respect and honour that remains in place for those who fought and died.

What is surprising to me is that only 38 people in Sandgate (schools, SAGA, church, shops and homes) are members of the Sandgate Royal British Legion.

In joining there is no time commitment necessary (unless the person wants to attend the one hour meeting each month), but having just 38 members in the area doesn't reflect the depth of feeling portrayed by the public.

I'm sure you know what the Royal British Legion does to support servicemen and women and their families but perhaps you didn't know about membership locally.

If you or someone you know, would like to join as a silent member or active member, please let me know.

Membership costs £15 per year, which is just £1.25 per month) and I have set myself the task of doubling the membership before Remembrance 2015. I could deliver Membership forms to anyone interested: I'd love to hear from you.
