Good News for Disabled Children from Government

January 12, 2011 11:41 AM

Some delayed good news (which I missed at the time in something of an email flurry): the Government announced in December that they will be providing local authorities with £800 million over the next four years to fund short breaks for families with disabled children. This represents approximately £200m per year, a £22m year on year increase on 2010 funding.

Full details of this press release and the press release from the Department of Education are at http://www.ncb.org.uk/edcm/news/news_archive/2010_news_archive/dec_2010/11_dec_10_short_breaks_funding.aspx

Well done, for this, to Sarah Teather and the Government. This Is A Good Thing.
